WEEK 2 – “On the Road”
Junior Science Squad (Ages 6–9 *must be school aged)
From the vehicles we drive to the roads we build; STEM is everywhere in how we travel. In this program, kids will design and decorate their own vehicles, experiment with road building, and test how slopes, corners, and weight change the way things move. A hands-on way to see science and engineering in action!
Monday 29th Sep – Technology: Build a Car or Truck
-
Rev into this 90-minute technology session that is all about moving parts. Pick a vehicle body, decorate it, and experiment with different parts to see which designs go faster or farther. Stay for the two hours and gain hands on STEM experience while learning through play and experiments!
Tuesday 30th – Engineering: Civil Construction at Work
-
Did you know how many careers in STEM come together to create safe travel for us? Put your engineering hat on for this 90-minute session that discovers that science of design and construction. Design and test small-scale roadways for toy vehicles. Explore how different surfaces affect travel. Stay for the two hours and gain hands on STEM experience while learning through play and experiments!
Wednesday 1st – Science: Gravity, Corners & Weights
- Drop into this 90-minute GRAVITY COMPETITION! Learn the push and pull of invisible force, test how weight and speed work together! Who will defy gravity the best? Stay for the two hours and gain hands on STEM experience while learning through play and experiments!
